The communications website network of CIG Pannónia Life Insurance Plc. was developed in the second half of 2009. The main goal was to create a network of easily accessible, user friendly, state-of-the-art communicatinonal channels that provide relevant information for existing and future clients and strenghtens corporate identity. The network consists of four individual frontend localities (corporate, Hungarian, Romanian and Slovakian) and a joint backend application where frontend contents are managed. Several microsites and blogs are also attached to the network.

One of the main advantages of this system is that it grants administrators the freedom of customizing frontend page layouts, including the content of main page boxes. The menu hierarchy is also editable, one can add new menu items, delete/hide existing ones or alter the page type of a hierarchy item. Article and article list type menu items display articles that has a built-in version management system and a complex approval process at the end of which they get published. Thumbnails, image galeries, downloadable files can be attached to articles, and their publication's start and end date is manageable. Public contents on the websites can be shared via e-mail, twitter, iwiw, facebook. There is also an e-mail notification service available, subscribed users get e-mail notifications on new announcements and any other information they are interested in.

Besides articles the portals incorporate other informative pages too: in the agent locator one can search amongst insurance agents of the company, on the carrier page job vacancies are published, and the yield calculator shows changes and tendencies in fund price courses for all products of CIG Pannónia Life Insurance Plc.

Technology

The network has been developed using Symfony 1.4 framework. In order to reach as many users as possible the websites are completely flash-free, thus all sites can appear on smartphones and tablets without any restrictions.
